Why would any loved one want them to stay and suffer just so they don't get upset?

If I had my time over with my sister and knew what was coming I would have made sure she didn't wake up from her coma.

Same with mental health problems its fine if they are coping, but if not it's awful watching them in torture day after day.

I personally wouldn’t want to put my loved ones through it if I decided to go down that road.

When your mental health goes down that far you actually believe they will be better off without you.

I’m talking about them being present at the end.

Yes, personal choice. If it were my loved one then I would want to be there so they are not alone but not sure how I would feel if it were me wanting to go.

Same. Knowing how devastating it would be for me to be there means I wouldn’t want to put others through it. Haven’t been through this but I’ve been present at a loved ones death, it leaves a deep scar even though it may help the one passing. But it does depend on who is involved, if it was one of my boys I’d be scarred if I wasn’t present to support them.
Wow, this is heavy stuff to think about tonight.
